Hog Roast at Nettle Hill, Antry in Coventry was the venue this weekend. Hog Roast Redditch provided a BBQ for a wedding as well as a traditional hog roast. We catered for 110 guests and made up some tasty canapés to go with the initial welcome drinks. Smoked salmon and cream cheese blinis, chorizo, tomato and olive skewers, pate and cranberry crisps, cheese and olive blinis and guacamole and prawn croustades were all served before the main reception. The weather was mixed, some glorious sunshine followed by sharp bursts of rain, but there was plenty of cover and everyone enjoyed the food on offer. We then worked hard whilst the speeches were being made to produce a really spectacular wedding feast.
The hog was prepared with crispy crackling and accompanied by apple sauce, stuffing and soft bread rolls, we also barbecued king prawn skewers, salmon and tomato kebabs, Mediterranean vegetables with halloumi and provided hot dogs for the kids. We also provided various salads. All of this was served in a marquee, so we had hot chafing dishes which contained all the food. What a fantastic occasion, we had lots of appreciative comments and some guests even managed seconds. We plated up any leftovers so guests could enjoy “thirds”! later on in the evening.
